Although
the majority of Vivian Altman’s newest oil paintings were created in the dead of last winter, her colors are warm and
vibrant, and celebrate the summer season. While the twisting, curving angular shapes are reminiscent of Altman’s earlier
works, many of her new pieces also incorporate circular motifs. Along with the various textures and shapes that suggest movement,
these circles add new strength to the compositions.
